Dear future husband,
Here are a few things you need to know if you want to be my one and only. Since I was sixteen years old and watched marriages around me fail, I have sworn to never get married…but since you are reading this, it means that you are one amazing person, someone who I know I have made the right decision to be spending the rest of my life with. You are one brave soul for wanting to marry me and some may call you insane for wishing to spend the rest of your life with my crazy self.
I thought I would make your life easier and give you some tips before you dive right into the deep end:
Family comes first.
I hope you are ready for my close-knit, crazy family. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. Our holiday dinners are super early, which means we can swing by your place for dessert. We also like to joke around a lot, so expect many, many insults, as my sisters and cousins will all gang up on you. And don’t worry, I’ll be joining in with them.
Friends are important too.
I am not trying to tell you that you aren’t going to matter to me, but hopefully at this point you understand that I need my girlfriends in my life. Unless there was an absolute emergency, I will never ditch my friends for you. If I can have a girls night out, I obviously hope you can go out with the boys.
I can’t cook.
I am sorry to say that my extent of cooking is ordering pizza, so unless you want pizza every night, then so be it. I can’t cook now and I probably won’t be able to cook when I’m married. I can make banging desserts though!
I am a hot mess.
I mean this in every way possible. I can never match my clothes, and my makeup is usually falling down my face. I don’t think my hair has been down in a week and if my appearance isn’t bad enough, my shit is everywhere. I don’t mean to, but I start so many projects and move on and then three weeks go by and I don’t have a floor to look at. I’m trying to fix it; I guess I’m a fixer-upper.
Good luck with me.
I apologize now in advance for all the stupid arguments I have caused in the past and all the ones that will be happening in the future. I am not easy to love and I know that. I will always put myself down and push you away. Sometimes my anxiety will get between us, bus as long as you keep loving me, I will never let you go.
We are owning a shelter.
I want a pitbull, and a husky, five cats, maybe a pig, and a hamster. Oh and a Great Dane and a Mastiff. I hope you like animals, because I have names picked out for each one already.
Movie nights. Every night.
Forget having date night every week. We can just stay in all night and watch movies. I already have a decent collection, but I want to build a collection together. I would rather spend a night in with you than a night out in town.
Be ready for challenges. Â
As well as being the youngest, I was raised to be a competitive person. I love to wrestle and play board games, and I will even make cleaning a competition. Accept every one of them, and prepare to lose.
and last but not least:
Be ready for an adventure.
I cannot wait to meet you. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. It will be one hell of a ride, and I can tell you now that I am not easy, but if I am marrying you, it means that you are worth every little fight. I hope you are just as excited as I am.
I am truly excited that I have found someone to spend the rest of my life with. Although you should know these strange little things about me, I want you to know that no matter what happens I will always love you. Through thick and thin, you are truly my one and only and I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my life than to spend it with you!
