When it comes to your skin, you want to do all that you can to keep it glowing, healthy, and blemish-free. It’s a new year; let’s stop critiquing our attributes and try a few new beauty products that will help radiate your skin and encourage you to embrace your natural beauty.
I’ve been trying to use more natural products, which has made a complete difference with my stubborn acne. Staying away from harmful oils and ingredients that clog your pores and irritate your skin will do wonders for your complexion.
The best thing about these beauty products? They are SUPER cheap! There is no need to spend more than twenty dollars on a face lotion or an organic body scrub. I know what it feels like it to be a broke college student who is dying for answers to have good skin!
Here are a few of my personal favorite skin care options that have changed my life in less than six months:
1. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer
This moisturizer is great because it’s not greasy, it contains SPF, and has a small amount of soy. You’re probably thinking, “Why the hell would I want my moisturizer to have soy in it?” Well, according to a research scientist with Johnson & Johnson, the proteins in soy help diminish redness and unwanted blotchy coloring on the skin. Say goodbye to acne scars and sunspots!
2. Lush Movis Cleanser
Okay yes, it looks like a slice of bread. I know, it looks super weird, but it feels amazing. Its spongy texture is packed full of whole wheat breadcrumbs and is rich in vitamin E to help skin look smooth and radiant. You’ll be free of lifeless skin with this sponge-like cleanser.
3. Yes to Grapefruit Pore Perfection Brightening Peel
This peel is like getting a citrusy-exfoliating treatment at the spa, but in the comfort of your own home. It reduces the appearance of pores and dark spots, and helps your complexion look absolutely radiant from the grapefruit extract and Vitamin C.
4. Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask
This mask is wonderful for so many reasons. It smells like blueberries, it helps calm your skin and tames your redness, and it has beneficial anti-oxidants that help keep your skin feeling fresh.
5. Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream
I use the combination to oily skin BB cream because it reduces my shine and oily skin throughout the day. I love using this instead of liquid foundation because it’s a lot lighter and it doesn’t make me breakout either. You won’t need to double up on face makeup either; it will cut your getting ready time in half! It’s amazing.
6. Derma E Anti-Wrinkle Cream
This is by far one of the best wrinkle creams. Derma E has so many amazing products, but this one takes the cake. I use it every night before bed and apply it on my face and neck and I see results immediately. It’s super light, it isn’t greasy and smells great. What’s not to like?
7. Ashwagandha Root
This isn’t a topical treatment for your skin and it is tough to pronounce, but this natural supplement has been a game changer for my skin and overall well-being. This root is referred to as the “Indian ginseng” and is used to strengthen the immune system, support the adrenal and thyroid glands, and also helps reduce your stress levels. I used to have really bad hormonal acne around my chin and a lady who worked at Whole Foods introduced me to this supplement and now I rarely ever have a breakout.
We spend a lot of time searching for the best beauty products and sacrifice our money on something we’re not even sure will work, but with this list you’ll have great skin and a happy wallet. Grab your girls, head to the store, and snag these and a bottle of wine for your girls night in. These products will give you the summer glow you’ve been craving in this cold winter.
