One of my personal goals recently was to start going to concerts that I always dreamed of attending instead of waiting for tickets to go on sale and talking myself out of it. Dumb me. I would rather spend money on an experience than a few new shirts, and if I have to go myself then so be it. Party of one? Sure, I’m a party on my own. Here is a list of concerts of artists who are touring this year that you need to attend or else you are seriously missing out on pretty much everything that matters:
Justin Bieber
We can all try to pretend until our dying day that we can’t stand Bieber, and yeah most of his actions are ridiculous, but the recent music he’s been releasing is on point. I would love to be able to see him live, and if you get the chance to this year do it. Don’t act like you wouldn’t like to cry along to Love Yourself, because I would.
Adele
Granted all the tickets for her tour sold out in seconds and are now being sold for absurd amounts of money; this would still be the show of a lifetime. One of my concert goals is to see her and one of these days I will. You should too, because why not pay money to cry and hate yourself because you aren’t Adele?
The 1975
If you aren’t listening to them already, you should be listening to them. It’s hard to describe this band in words but any song they produce is magic. Do yourself a favor and listen to their debut album and make sure you have room for dancing. Needless to say I’ve already snagged some tickets for them this spring, and you should too.
Demi Lovato
Keep in mind, I’m not the biggest Demi Lovato fan ever, I like her music generally and am a supporter of her philanthropic work, but never thought her concert would be on my go to list. That being said I feel like it would be an incredibly fun time because she knows how to put on a show. A big bonus is she is touring right now with Nick Jonas, how much better could it get?
Luke Bryan
He has won the CMA award for entertainer of the year numerous times now so I don’t think this could ever be a bad decision. He’s got some fun upbeat tunes that anyone could surely jam out to and rumor has it he is an A+ dancer. Be sure to snatch up some tickets to that tour.
Fall Out Boy
I’ve seen them live, and they are worth it. If you are looking for a show that will exceed your expectations, this is it. The energy they create on stage is amazing. Not to mention last time I saw them they moved out into the crowd for an acoustic set that still has me on cloud nine.
Hozier
You will feel this music in your bones and it will probably affect you on a spiritual level by the end of the night. The music already affects me that much when listening on my walk to class, I can only imagine how unbelievably wonderful it would be in person.
Johnnyswim
You probably haven’t heard of them, but you should. This husband and wife duo will surely be a treat to your eardrums. They aren’t that popular so if you become a fan fast you will still get the chance to say you went to their concert before they were popular. Look at you go!
Sam Hunt
He’s an upcoming artist that certainly is becoming a big deal in the country music industry. I’ve spend many nights singing to these songs in my dorm and would love to be able to do the same at an actual concert of his. Plus, he’s quite the looker so you definitely won’t be disappointed in that sense.
Twenty One Pilots
I was one of those fans that was a fan before they started getting radio play, and I’ve wanted to go to a concert ever since. The thought of hearing Holding On To You or The Judge live gives me chills. If you get the opportunity to go see them, everyone that goes leaves feeling like they just went to therapy, a two for one deal? Why not!
Weezer and Panic! At The Disco
This. Is. A. Must. These two bands, together, is something that will never happen again and is bound to be amazing. It certainly will be a people pleaser type of concert because there’s a little something for everyone. And if that isn’t enough, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness (formerly of Jack’s Mannequin) will be opening for them. Bring a group of friends to this because everyone will certainly love it.
And of course insert your favorite artist/band here. Stop making excuses, if possible this year, go, it’ll be worth it.
So, prepare yourself for the time of your life at all of these concerts. You’ll laugh, you’ll probably cry at some point, and you might break the bank a bit getting there but it will all be worth it. In addition to this list, if Beyoncé ever tours again…well that’s a given: go. But, in full disclosure and warning, prepare yourself for post concert depression because there is no evading that…except if you have another concert to go to. 😉

Brendan Urie has my heart. But so does Pete Wentz. Too many great bands out there to limit myself haha
