You have a love-hate relationship with your hair. If you’re like me, then you don’t have a hairstyle…you just have hair, and a lot of it. It’s usually up in a bun, but those days that you decide to put some effort into it, it looks flawless. It’s not all fun and games as people with short hair might think. There are some serious hardships with having a long flowing mane. Here’s 20 of the most common struggles of a long-haired gal:
1. Using a gallon of conditioner each time you shower and losing funds down the drain with it
2. Having to strategically flip it back into place
3. Brushing your hair until your arm feels like it’s going to fall off
4. Always having to put your hair up to eat so it doesn’t get in the way
5. Getting it stuck in car windows, or even worse…getting it stuck in your zipper6. Seeing amazing styles on Pinterest but being waaaay too lazy to try them
7. You can’t be bothered to spend hours making it pretty, so it’s in a bun 99% of the time
8. Getting your hair wet is a serious commitment9. Ringing the water out of your hair could probably fill a bucket, and it gets heavy
10. And don’t even think about styling it unless you have hours to spare
11. The shame of shedding…everywhere
12. When you clog the drain and your partner/housemates/parents are like13. If you leave the house without a hair tie, you’re irritated all day
14. Or when your hair elastic breaks
15. You look like the exorcist if your hair is down on a windy day, not sexy.
16. Always having to look behind you before whipping your hair back to put it up so you don’t hit anyone with your hair
17. Unrealistic expectations Disney set for you and your hair
18. …And so did Clueless
19. When you think there’s a bug on you but it’s just your hair
20. Always keeping it to one side to keep the monster tamed & avoid matting
Having flowing locks takes a lot of time and maintenance, and can sometimes even get expensive. There is only maybe a solid two days out of the week where you’re hair looks incredible, and the rest of the time it’s just being managed, not showcased, so stop blaming us for being “lazy” when our hair is always up. Fuck you; you don’t know the half of it. And we are too afraid to cut it. It becomes our security blanks that we hide behind, and our weapon of seduction. Plus, we are so used to having so much weight hanging off our pretty little heads, what would we do without it?
