Summer is approaching which means…attempting to get back into shape (if you aren’t already). As someone who is guilty of putting off working out during the semester, it is crunch time. We all want fast results that have us checking every mirror and every scale after a day of working out waiting to see changes.
While looking at your reflection and weighing yourselves can be an ego-booster as you’re taking better care of yourself, it can be the opposite for others. A mirror or scale can’t tell you if you’re building muscle, or if your new diet or workout is benefitting you. If you’re just starting to work out and you see that you’re actually gaining weight – this may scare you because you’re only seeing mass and not realizing that you’re gaining muscle.
If you’re seeing results, looking in the mirror may be the best thing to keep you motivated. If you look at yourself and keep thinking “I look the exact same”, it may demotivate you to keep working out or eating healthy. The truth is, you’re not going to get the healthiest body you can have with only one workout a month and eating junk constantly. It is a process and a lifestyle change. Becoming a healthy person takes time, and it is something that is meant to benefit you in the long-run, not just for a summer photo. Just because you are not seeing immediate results, does not mean it’s not working.
With that being said, it would be nice to look in the mirror and know that there are positive changes happening in your body even if you’re not immediately seeing it. How can you get an accurate reading of the changes happening to your body at home?
The Naked 3D Fitness Tracker is ready to attack these barriers and change how you weigh and see yourself in a mirror. It’s the first home body scanner which captures a 3D model of your body. This allows you to visualize your body’s changes, track your body fat percentage, provide accurate body measurements, and weigh you. You can also track your muscle growth and fat loss by using Naked’s heat map which highlights where you’re gaining or losing muscle and fat. All the information is connected to the Naked app where you are able to see your current results and compare it to your past results.
The high-tech mirror is set to go on pre-order today for $499 but it unfortunately won’t be shipping out until March, 2017. While it’s an affordable price, and my curiosity is getting the best of me – you can bet that I’ll still be waiting on my gym to get one for me to try it out. With the tech coming out of Silicon Valley, I’m sure that it’s going to be as cool as it sounds. All of these new apps coming out, we are truly living in the future.
