If you grew up loving the magical and riveting world of Harry Potter, then you know that Hermione Granger posses qualities that make her quite the extraordinary and inspirational character. The heroine of the iconic trio made a lasting impact on thousands of fans through her loyalty, ambition, passion, and most importantly, her incredible love for her two best friends. Fans of the series, including myself, found ourselves relating to Hermione in many ways, and often viewed the young witch as a role model. Here are 12 things that Hermione Granger taught us that changed our lives forever.

1. Her undeniable loyalty.

This is pretty much a given, but her friendship to Harry and Ron is unwavering. She clearly loves them both so much, and sticks with them through thick or thin. The bond this trio has is unbreakable, and Hermione teaches us that friendship is extremely valuable.

2. She’s isn’t afraid to stand up for herself.

Remember that time Draco taunted her for being a “mudblood” and she punched him in the nose? You definitely don’t want to get on her bad side.

3. Her passion to learn.

Not only is Hermione beautiful inside and out, but she reminds us of the importance of learning. From spending her free time in the library to knowing useful information on potions, plants, and spells in times of need, she demonstrates why learning is so important!

4. She is selfless.

Time and time again, we see Hermione put others before herself. Whether it was wiping her parents memory of her to save them from the hands of Voldemort, or telling Sirius Black “If you want to kill Harry, you’ll have to kill us too”, we watch her put others first constantly.

5. She is kind and compassionate.

Besides loving her friends, Hermione is compassionate with all things. She created S.P.E.W., or the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, so that elves could be treated equally and fairly after witnessing how poorly house elves were treated. She believes everyone, and everything, should be treated with respect; something we all should take note of!

6. She speaks her mind.

Hermione exhibits that we should always speak what’s on our mind. She tells it like it is to her friends in good times and bad, and is always the first to answer a question in class. She makes it known to us that you should be confident in all that you do.

7. Her strength and dedication.

When Bellatrix tortured Hermione on how they obtained the sword of Godric Gryffindor, she refused to budge. No matter how much pain she endured, she maintained her loyalty to her friends regardless of the cost.

8. She is fearless.

Let’s be real here, Hermione goes up against Voldemort, Death Eaters, and other scary mythical creatures. She doesn’t run away from what’s attacking her and her friends; instead she puts up a fight.

9. She’s logical.

Calm and collected the majority of the time, Hermione’s reasoning and logic has helped her, Harry, and Ron get out of some tough situations over the years. Not to mention she planned the trio’s journey to destroy Horcruxes by summoning all books Horcrux related and packing a bag to survive their journey.

10. She knows how to make an entrance.

From the moment we met Hermione Granger, she captured our hearts with her introduction. She impressed everyone with her spell knowledge by fixing Harry’s glasses. Oh, and don’t forget her entrance at the Yule Ball when she looked absolutely stunning walking down the stairs!

11. She’s relatable.

What draws in so many people loving Hermione is that she is relatable to everyone in some aspect. Whether you’re a bookworm and love to read, or if that your heart just as big as hers, there is always something a person can relate to.

12. She displays the highest type of woman.

We have seen Hermione grow over the years into a beautiful, strong woman. Girls of all ages look up to her as in inspiration. Hermione constantly exhibits to us to be the best version of yourself, and to those around you.

The Harry Potter series provided us the character of Hermione Granger, a character that truly captured the hearts of thousands over the years.
