You’re young. Your skin is shining. The last thing you’re probably buying at the store is anti-aging cream. But, you should be starting. In your 20s, your skin is youthful. But, this is the time to act now to keep it that way. What we do to our skin is going to show up when we are 40. Here are some tips to keep your skin glowing, and help it age well.
Your diet matters
Reach for water during the day. You are supposed to drink six to eight glasses a day, and if you do, you will see the dark circles under your eyes disappear. You will also notice those red blemishes vanishing. Drinking water keeps your skin hydrated, and dry skin is more prone to wrinkles. Which one do you want? Also, eat for beauty. Celebrity Esthetician Joanna Vergas says to eat a lot of vegetables, and have a green juice every day for glowing skin.
Sweat it out
Working out gets your blood flow moving, and helps nourish your skin cells. Your skin will be brighter, but not only that, exercise helps lower your stress levels. You know what stress does? Causes wrinkles. This is a win-win situation. Also, working out helps you sleep better which helps those dark circles under your eyes.
Wear SPF
This is what my mom tells me to wear all the time. Honestly, it helps. UV rays are always there, even on cloudy days. Sun is the number one cause of aging skin, so if you wear sunscreen you can protect this from happening. Putting on SPF is part of my morning routine before putting on makeup!
Stop sleeping with your makeup on
It happens, and we are all guilty of it, but try and make it a habit of washing it all off before bed. Sleeping with your makeup on blocks pores, and causes breakouts.
Don’t forget to exfoliate
Starting to exfoliate now will help your skin in the long run. It will renew your skin, take away dead skin cells, dirt, and unclog pores. Exfoliating is a wondrous thing.
Wash your face every day
Get in this habit now. This is one of the easiest ways to look after your skin. Find a nice face wash and just watch your skin glow.
Don’t forget to moisturize
Like I said above, dry skin causes wrinkles, so don’t forget to hydrate your skin with a nice moisturizer.
I think one of the most important tips is to stick with your skincare routine. Find one you love, and then don’t wander from it. Trust me, your future 40-year-old self will thank you for it. Sometimes products won’t work and cause a reaction, and you’ll stop. But, don’t quit. Try a different product, and soon you’ll have the perfect routine!
