Life is the ultimate game of survivor. Every day is going to be different from the next. Some days you are going to feel high and that you can take on the world. And then there are some days you are going to feel like the world is against you and want to wallow in your own self-pity. Those are the days that you need to question whether it is really life out to get you or you just setting yourself up for disaster. Is the world standing in your way or is it your thoughts that are holding you back? Every day you have two options – You can choose to act like a victim or you can choose to be the warrior.
We all have had those moments that you just want to feel sorry for yourself. When life throws yet another challenge at you and you question whether you can handle anymore. It is easy to give up and give in to the negativity, but that is when the negativity gangs up on you. The more negative thoughts you have, the more negative your situation is going to become. It is really all about the way that you look at the situation.
The Victim’s Thought Process – The world is out to get me. Nothing ever comes as easy for me as it does for everyone else around me. I should just give up because I know I am never going to get ahead. There is no point in trying because I know it is not going to work in my favor. No one will ever give me a break or ever believes in me. They want to see me fail, so they can hold it against me. I will never be successful. I will never accomplish my dreams. No one ever cares about me or what is happening to me. I am in this alone.
The Warrior’s Thought Process – I am ready to take on the world today. I might not want to do this, but I know I can accomplish this and I will feel better afterward. This might not have gone the way that I planned, but I can and will make this work in my favor. This isn’t going to be easy, but I am ready to work my ass off for it and try to make this happen. I might not succeed, but at least I will know that I at least gave it my all. That didn’t work out for me, but at least I now know that that wasn’t the right path for me. I can try to make this work. I am open to a challenge. I am ready for anything.
Your mentality is half of the battle. It doesn’t matter what hand you’re dealt, you are your own worst enemy. It is in those moments that you have to fight. You have to fight for yourself. Fight for your future. Fight for your positive thoughts and let them shine through. You don’t have to have all happy and sunshine moments, but you do have to look for the light at the end of the tunnel and hold on to it. Just remember all of the challenges you had already been through that you didn’t think you were going to get past. In your deepest, darkest times, remind yourself that you are a warrior that can get through anything.
