The Queen of Country Pop is back! Shania Twain just released an upbeat and sunshine filled new track in anticipation for her first album in 15 years. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have Shania’s nostalgic voice back in my life. When I was 9 years old, my first concert was hers and I remember vividly looking up at the bright lights with Shania wearing a variety of hockey jersey’s throughout her set in Toronto, ON. My 9 year old self thought it was hands down the closest experience to magic. I even went as far as to keep the confetti at the end of the night, which I still have today. Over the years, I can confidently say this first taste of live music impacted my life in a big way. I now work in radio and music publicity (and old school Shania still jams). To share my love for this country-pop goddess, check out her brand new single, Life’s About To Get Good!
In celebration of Shania dropping this summer anthem and in excitement for her new album titled Now, I think it’s time we celebrate her as one of the greatest role models that kids today better look out for; our girl is making a comeback! Get your walkman ready for the #SummerOfShania and listen to 7 of her biggest classics below:
- That Don’t Impress Me Much
But she sure does. After years of laying low and enjoying quality time with her family, Shania isn’t holding back with this new release. But I will confess I’ve been searching for a leopard print jumpsuit like this for years.
I feel proud to say I had role models like Shania growing up that made me so darn proud to be a female, this track is a classic.
This was one of those songs that was totally intended to be sexual but I definitely thought it was made for me and my closest girlfriends having a slumber party. Either way, Party for Two is still suitable for a party of any size.
If you don’t remember singing this into your karaoke machine in bell-bottom pants, were you really raised in the early 2000s?
The ultimate kick off your shoes and be pampered song. I blame all my high standards for men on this song in particular.
Although Shania has aged amazing and looks absolutely stunning on this album art at the incredible age of 51 years young, she has been teaching women their whole life to be proud of so much more than how they look.
This video vaguely reminds me of T-Swift’s Bad Blood, but I gotta go with the OG queen on this one…Shania takes the cake (and without any crazy celebrity drama too!)
Curated just for your passive listening, you can also check out this Spotify playlist to jam Shania all day work like me. Grab your hairbrush mic, dig out those old CDs and toss on that old concert tee that is more than likely a vintage crop top at this point. It’s only going Up! From here for this gal! You can pre-order her new album here.
