While it is entertaining to binge on some historical fiction with The Crown or to overload your mind on serial killer documentaries like Making a Murderer, once in a while it is good to just sit back and enjoy some mindless humor. It’s great to just vegetate with some nonsense that won’t make you think or force you to learn something new. To just relax and have a good laugh at people whose lives seem unbelievable, with storylines that are so far-fetched that it makes you appreciate the lack of excitement that is going on in your own life. That’s why you should be taking a trip with LA To Vegas.
For those of you who aren’t aware of Fox’s funny new program, LA To Vegas is about “Jackpot Airlines” and the crew that works the flight from LA to Vegas every week. It is full of funny, absurd storylines between the coworkers, as well as the passengers that are on the flight. From the pilot being drunk and advertising that the passengers should check out select strip clubs on their travels to the passengers being forced to sit with a dead body on the flight while the flight attendants try to pretend that nothing is happening, the ridiculous storylines will have you laughing your behind off. It will make you want to find a flight to Vegas right away in hopes that you will find something just as fun.
Warning: The first episode is a little slow to get into, but it is just the setup episode. Once you make it through that episode, you’re golden!
What is great about the show is that the cast works perfectly together. Dylan McDermott (the hot guy from Steel Magnolias, American Horror Story, Miracle on 34th Street and a bunch of other big movies) plays Captain David – The hot, crazy pilot that is always saying off the wall things. Dermot Mulroney (The hot guy from My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Wedding Date, Shameless, and a bunch of other movies he looks hot in) plays Captain Steve – Captain David’s arch nemesis. Nathan Lee Graham (The adorable best friend from Sweet Home Alabama) plays Bernard – the quirky flight attendant. Kim Matula (You might recognize her if you’re a big fan of the Bold and the Beautiful) plays Ronnie – The crazy flight attendant that hates her life most of the time and may fall for Ed Weeks (The adorably slutty doctor from The Mindy Project) plays Colin – A professor that travels home every weekend to see his son. With a cast like this, it is hard not to get addicted to this show!
Ginger Views: Take a night and binge on LA To Vegas! It is one of those shows that will have you laughing from stupidity, cringing from awkwardness and craving more episodes. It has a tight cast, humorous storylines and a way of leaving you feeling better about your own life. While it is sad that your flight from LA to Vegas might not ever be as fun as the show is, it will provide you with some mindless entertainment and hopefully put a smile on your face, so jump on board and check out the next flight airing Tuesdays on Fox! Or if you’re a genius and have Hulu, it is on there every Wednesday morning.
