The 2018 Billboard Music Award nominees were revealed on Tuesday by Khalid and Bebe Rexha on NBC’s Today.

Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars are in the lead with 15 BBMA nominations apiece. All three artists are up for the Top Artist, along with Drake (9 nominations total) and Taylor Swift (5 nominations total). Post Malone received 12 BBMA nods and Imagine Dragons got 10 nods, making this a great year for these artists.
Nominees for the BBMAs are selected through a number of ways, including key interactions with music fans, album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social engagement, as tracked by Billboard and its data partners over a 12 month period.

The Billboard Music Awards will air live on NBC for the first time this year, from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. This three-hour event will celebrate 60 years of Billboard charts.
