Well Bachelor Nation, we are in the midst of the most dramatic season of the Bachelorette yet, but I have to interrupt our regular Bachelor/Bachelorette episode updates with some huge breaking news:

People confirmed Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon’s engagement. According to the site, the proposal takes places on the upcoming Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise, so we are guaranteed a proposal in an upcoming Bachelor franchise.
*Cue the happy tears*

The news does come as shocking considering the Bachelor in Paradise couple only announced they were dating on May 22 via Instagram. They’ve literally been together for 27 days. Even tough it feels like a life time.
Although the engagement may seem extremely fast (but not fast as Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s), the two have actually been through a long road to get here.
In Summer of 2015 they met on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. Ashley had immediate feelings for Jared, and strong ones at that, while he put her in the friend zone (where she cried a lot).
They appeared again on season 3 in 2016, which ended up being even worse than the first one. She was still in the friend zone while he was making moves with other ladies while she only had eyes for him.
But despite the drama and heartbreak (and many, many tears), they decided to remain close friends. Ashley even started another Bachelor franchise relationship with Kevin Wendt (aka the winner from The Bachelorette: Canada) on The Bachelor Winter Games, which aired in January this year. And from there it’s blossomed into a beautiful and long-anticipated relationship, proving if it’s meant to be it’ll be.
No other details have been made, but one things for certain…
