This Is The Last Thing You Should Ever Judge Yourself By

Since I am about to graduate college and start my life in the real world, I’ve had to make some tough decisions. I had to decide what I want to do next and where I want to go. It’s difficult because while I know the answers to these questions, I am afraid of not being successful. Until this point in my life, I have been able to fail since there are always people to help me get back up. If I fail in the real world, though, who will help me?

When we talk about taking a big risk, one of the things that can hold us back is the fear of failing. That’s why we tend to stay in our comfort zone and never go “outside the box.” It’s very tempting to play it safe and stay where you know you can easily get back up. But is that really the way to live? It makes sense that the thing you avoid is the idea of failing. Failing is embarrassing and causes a large amount of guilt. But, that is no reason to give up your dreams.

There is so much pressure on young adults to get out and see what the world has to offer. But if you fail, the expectation is to immediately get back up. Therefore, it’s always tempting to take the easy way out and choose the safest option. However, every day you don’t do that, you are still successful.

Choosing to keep fighting even though it’s not working out at the moment is success.

Failure is something we should define for ourselves. It often looks different to every person. But the truth is, sometimes you have to struggle a little before you really “get there.” Nothing just falls into your lap the second you start looking. Your first job probably won’t be the best. Your first apartment won’t be where you live forever. It’s all about timing because what is meant to be will only happen when it is truly the right moment. We need to understand that the world isn’t a perfect place, so your life will not be perfect. Making it in the real world can be a struggle, but that doesn’t mean you’re failing. You only fail if you stop trying.

If the first job or home you have doesn’t work out, remember there is always somewhere else to go. You are never stuck in your decisions. You are allowed to change your mind. Failure is a part of life, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t capable. It just means you have to keep working and keep trying. J.K. Rowling was rejected 12 times for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and look at her now. Never give up on your dreams. It will work out when the time is right. But if you give up, you give up any possible chance of ever making it.
