Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham made Bachelor history this past March after Arie broke up with his then fiance, Becca Kufrin, on TV announcing he was still in love with Bachelor runner-up, Lauren Burnham. Soon after, Arie popped the question on the After the Final Rose special in March 2018. Since then, the couple has announced that they plan to walk down the aisle January 2019. A few months back, they shared their wedding venue, their engagement photos, and details of Lauren’s bridal shower.
On November 14th, the pair took to the ‘gram again to share possibly the biggest news yet – the two are expecting a little Bachelor baby!
The couple didn’t necessarily plan for the baby, but this doesn’t take away from their excitement.
On Instagram, Arie wrote, “Nothing compares, absolutely nothing compares to the moment you find out you’re going to be a dad! We cried, we laughed, and it really was such a special moment for us. We’re so freakin’ happy!”
And, the future Mrs. Luyendyk told Us Weekly, “The first thing we thought of was, ‘Oh, my gosh. Our wedding!’ Obviously, we’re not married yet, but this is the way it happened, and this is probably the way it was meant to happen!”
Lauren also shared with Us Weekly that motherhood is already proving difficult. “October was miserable. I had really bad morning sickness and barely left the house.” She also admits that the past week, she’s begun to feel more like herself.
She’s even taking cycling classes and working with her trainer!
When Us Weekly asked Luyendyk to predict their parenting style, he confessed he’d be “such a softie,” while Lauren would most likely be more disciplinary.
Lauren added, “We’re kind of basing it off of how we parent our dogs!”
