It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for: Disney+ has finally arrived!
This is the latest streaming service to combat Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and others. Thanks to it’s creative content and cheap prices, this is definitely going to change the game of online streaming.
For a measly $6.99/month or $69.99/year (for Americans) and $8.00/month or $89.99/year (for Canadians) you get access to the ever growing Walt Disney Vault!
If you are a Verizon Fios member, be sure to login into your Fios app and add Disney+ as a free add on. And if you are a pre-existing Hulu user you can combine your subscriptions for only $13/month and have access to ESPN +, Hulu and Disney+ all in one. To do so, you can contact the Disney Plus help center.
This bundle is great for families, because it provides variety while also providing age appropriate content for the entire family. You can download the app to your smartphone, Apple TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Roku or stream it from your phone onto your Smart TV, or use your reliable laptop. The ways to access it are endless.
Unlike Netflix, where you have to pay more to have numerous accounts, Disney+ grants you access so multiple users to stream at the same time. They also offer several more options to pre-load offline streaming unlike other users.
I also really love how its organized! The movie posters feel brighter and more magical, even though it’s next to impossible considering how magical Disney already is. I’ve been browsing the iPhone app, and am loving how the search bar is organized.
Disney+ has everything from Endgame to Star Wars to the every season of The Simpsons, Lizzie McGuire and so much more- I don’t even know where to start! There are so many movies I want and need to watch to refresh my love of Disney. I also cannot wait to dive into Disney Through the Decades! The best part is many of these movies are downloadable and in HD or Ultra HDR.
Right now, it seems that the server is a bit overloaded by the influx of users eager to test out the new platform- because we all want to get a piece of the action.
If you’re a nostalgic Disney fan, like myself; then you’ll appreciate the abundance of Disney animated shorts like Walt Disney’s first ever cartoon, Steamboat Willie. Personally, I think any true Disney fan should watch this at least once. It’s the cartoon that started it all! They even have the Pixar shorts that we all secretly love.
And if you can’t get enough, they also have new exclusive movies for fans to enjoy including the live action remake of Lady and the Tramp and soon to be holiday classic Noelle. Plus, when new movies finish playing in theaters, Disney will make them immediately available to stream on their new service. So don’t feel bad if you miss out on the movie theater popcorn; you will still see the magic of Disney unfold!
All in all, Walt would be extremely proud to see what his company is doing now with this joint service to give fans of his work. Always innovative, he embraced the ever changing forms of technology. Walt would love to see all of his hard work combined with new works of art in one place that’s accessible and affordable for families of all ages to enjoy.
