If you’ve followed the Bachelorette this season, so far, we know that Clare is a bit dramatic. Correction, she’s not just dramatic, she’s incredibly problematic. In my opinion, there are quite a few reasons that she’s probably the worst Bachelorette we’re going to see.
- So far, we’ve spent three episodes with her obsession with Dale. There’s the saying, “When you know, you know.” When Dale walked out of the limo, he hugged her, after a brief exchange, and immediately said, “I think I just met my husband.” Okay – you’ve had one conversation with the man. This isn’t the worst thing, but, maybe take a look at the other guys and give them a fair shot?
2. The most cringe-worthy date in Bachelor history. She sets up a date with Jason, and it’s incredibly sweet. They talk about their lives, their issues, their problems, they talk about what they’ve been through, things that have been said about them, and they open up their souls. She ends the date with burning a dress that she was wearing on one of her previous three rounds on the Bachelor. (This isn’t a sign in itself?) And she kisses him, giving him so much hope.
3. Her exchanges with Blake – she knows and we know that the poor guy doesn’t have a chance with her, but he fights. He was the only one that actually admitted to messaging her before the show started. She acts like this is a huge thing and how thankful she is about his behavior. He also comes to talk to her about the unfairness of everything with the group date when his “team” lost. Which leads us to the next point.
4. Strip dodgeball? It’s a unique idea – but Yosef, also a problematic person, brings up a great point that it’s a little humiliating and degrading. Having 10 guys strip for you while throwing balls at each other? That’s a new one, and then hugging 10 naked guys as they walk away? Yeah, I think I need to agree with Yosef, the entire thing was a little classless. Imagine this being reversed and this was on The Bachelor, and he got called out?
5. Her need to flip out on the guys for no reason. During the “quality time” section of the love languages date, she completely flips out when someone calls her beautiful. He didn’t call her hot, sexy, etc, he called her beautiful. Instead of saying a simple “thank you”, he was immediately eliminated from the show, because “other guys” said things about her drive and passion.
6. She let one person ruin the cocktail party with the other men… twice. The same guy, that caused plenty of drama. Instead of actually talking to the other guys, she dealt with Yosef’s drama twice. It was brought to her attention by Tyler C (aka- Yeehaw Tyler) that Yosef was problematic, and instead of listening, she eliminates Tyler, keeps Yosef, and doesn’t see how things possibly went wrong.
7. She canceled the daytime date to have an “extended cocktail party”, in which she snuck off with Dale for over an hour. She took him back to her room, spent over an hour with him, and fooled around. The other guys didn’t get nearly as much time with her, and the only reason they stopped was that Eazy went and knocked on the door.
8. She claims she wants to spend “quality time” with the guys but she only means Dale. During a group date, she spends over an hour with Dale, while the other guys are only get a few minutes with he and are obviously angry. While talking to Jay, Dale walks into the room, and instead of sending him away so she could continue the conversation, she invites Dale to stay and continues making out with him instead. I think I speak for most people when I say, W. T. F?
9. She makes a scene about people treating her disrespectfully when she’s treating them with nothing but disrespect with her behavior towards Dale. Of course, he gets the rose at the cocktail party- maybe because he’s the only one that actually got to spend more than 5 minutes with her before she goes to bed.
10. During Dale’s roast, she makes a scene- yet again. She walks out saying they were all picking on him. Maybe there’s a reason for this Clare? They’ve all realized that you’re wasting their time. People came on this show to find love, and all you’ve done is talk about one guy, wish every date was with one guy. If you know the answer already, why keep leading everyone on?
11. If we’re going to have to choose who’s the biggest jackass on this show, it’s obviously Clare. She is wasting everyone else’s time, and even directly said by one of the guys, “casting them to the side” with no explanation. She goes on about her connection with Dale the entire time, clearly knowing who the choice is, but has no problem with wasting every second of the time with these guys.
12. When she calls Dale her fiancé in episode 3. After the group date roast, where Clare asked the guys to roast on other guys in the house, of course Dale was the butt of a lot of jokes. She fixates on this completely during the discussions after, saying that they’re all just jealous. She gives herself the group date rose. As if that wasn’t weird enough, when she was walking away, she referred to Dale as her fiancé. Which just leaves us all with the question: What?
With this said, it’s obvious that Clare is not clearly suited to be The Bachelorette. She’s made her choice, and she’s been thriving off the negativity around her, making the other guys question themselves and feel horrible about being there. She’s wasting the time of everyone, including the viewers. Time for a new Bachelorette? I think so. Bring on Tayshia, we can’t wait!
