6 Underrated Shows That You Should Stream ASAP

Netflix has produced a lot of powerhouse content over the years, and lately, they’ve been killing the streaming game with their combination of new originals and old classics. Bridgerton is most noticeably their latest smash success. But there are plenty of other excellent shows to watch that aren’t talked about as often on other streaming services you probably haven’t even heard of.

The Great

If you’re a fan of Bridgerton, you’ll love The Great. It has all of the societal scandal and historic fashion you love, but with a new storyline. It’s about finding loopholes in an arranged marriage between aristocrats. Need I say more? It’s as juicy as it sounds.

Everyone’s Doing Great

Calling all One Tree Hill fans! James Lafferty (aka Nathan) and Stephen Colletti (aka Chase, and “Stephennn” on Laguna Beach) wrote, produced, directed, edited and starred in this new comedy series about a has been actor trying to figure out his new life. Sound familiar? *wink* The show has had rave reviews and fans are hopeful it gets renewed for a second season after it’s unique storyline and relatability.

Control Z

If Riverdale was your secret obsession at one point (let’s face it, we all were intrigued at one point), you’ll love Control Z. The drama is about a group of high school students whose lives get turned upside down after a hacker reveals their secrets. It’s extremely suspenseful and has the kind of mystery that will leave you wondering who it is until you finish the season.

Happy Endings

To me, the show reminds me of Friends and many other lovable sitcoms alike. It centers around a group of 6 friends in their late twenties and early thirties and the highs and lows of their different lives. It’s relatable, it’s comforting, it’s hilarious and it’s binge-worthy! I would 10/10 recommend.

Kim’s Convenience

I’d like to call this beauty another hidden gem from Canada-very similar to Schitt’s Creek. The show is about a family trying to run a convenience store and chronicles the different lives of this family. It shares a lot of laugh-out-loud moments and just as many touching ones – the same kind that Schitt’s Creek has. I can picture this becoming extremely popular as more episodes become available online.

Barry

If you were a fan of You on Netflix, you will love HBO Max’s Barry. The show is about a hitman who tries and fails to put his murdering career behind him. It’s definitely more lighthearted than You, but it shares the same dark, twisted tone. Naturally, you’ll find yourself rooting for the serial killer, even if he isn’t Joe Goldberg.

If you’re feeling like myself and are frustrated with the feeling of seeing everything that Netflix has to offer, surely there might be something new on this list to watch. And even if you don’t have subscriptions to the other streaming services, you can always use your free trial to binge these seasons.
