10 Songs That Will Motivate You To Chase Your Dreams

Dreams, goals, motives – we all have these fancy words to describe what we want to achieve. Sometimes we feel that we are reaching our goal, but then life throws a tornado at us, rippling apart our aspirations. When these moments do happen, we often feel devastated because we’re so close to the finish line – until we’re not.

If you feel that your dreams are becoming further to reach, you can find some solace in music to keep you motivated. Here are ten songs to listen to for a reminder to chase your goal:

1. A Million Dreams by Ziv Zaifman, Hugh Jackman, and Michelle Williams

We all know this song as the second soundtrack of The Greatest Showman. The piano intervals, arpeggios, and emotional lyrics perfectly capture the message of not giving up and constantly seeking inspiration. So when you want to give up, this song will remind you to always remember your ambition to share your dreams.

2.  The Climb by Miley Cyrus

An oldie but a goodie, The Climb is a mixture of country and pop music written as a ballad. In life, we go through ups and downs. But we have to push on and endure the hard times before the good times come. The journey of not giving up is already enough for us to continue chasing our dreams.

3. Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey

Released in the early 80s, this song can still be heard on the radio and in stores nowadays. The message of always having hope regardless of past obstacles is relatable to many young adults. So, if you need a nudge to move on from the past, this song is for you.

4. Believer by Imagine Dragons

With over 2 billion views, Believer continues to be one of the classic songs by Imagine Dragons. According to Dan Reynolds, the frontman of Imagine Dragons, Believer is about “finding a place of peace, and [being] self-confident.” So when you feel incapable of doing something, you can jam to this song to remind you of the multiple talents you have.

5. One Day by Charice (aka Jake Zyrus)

Co-written and produced by Nick Jonas, One Day is a motivational song filled with inspirational messages. Charice, now known as Jake Zyrus, sings about being on a journey to achieve a mission, regardless if it sounds impossible or not. If you are in the mood to dance, feel free to jam to this song.

6. Who Says by Selena Gomez

This song takes us back to the old Selena days. It reminds us not to listen to anyone but ourselves. If someone makes a judgemental comment about our decision, we should simply shrug it off. After all, no one knows our struggles.

7. Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato has been through a lot. Although Skyscraper is metaphorically a song that outlines Demi’s experience with addiction and rehab, there are plenty of motivational messages. Whenever someone knocks us down, we could rise back up, just like a skyscraper regardless of the struggles we face.

8. Firework by Katy Perry

This song is not only a catchy, upbeat song for a party night, but it also stresses the importance of believing in ourselves and showcasing our talents to the world. Our journey is mainly about self-empowerment. And to reach our goals, we must believe in ourselves to bypass those hurdles.

9. One Step At A Time by Jordin Sparks

We often feel the need to skip steps in life, but that’s not the correct way to go about our dreams. This song, one of Jordin Sparks’ most successful pieces, is about conquering life’s battles with patience. There’s no need to rush – and we should be reminded of that.

10. Til You Can’t by Cody Johnson

Country music lovers: this song is perfect if you feel down in the dumps. Basically, if you have a dream, chase it and go for it every day. Don’t wait for another day or hold onto it, but at the same time, continue to value the people who are there for you and hold them close.

Although being motivated and enthusiastic can be difficult when we face challenges, these songs remind us that we can achieve our dreams as long as we are confident in ourselves and our skills. Which song do you like the most? Let us know in the comments below!
