How To Achieve The Perfect Natural Makeup Look

Getting started with makeup can be  challenging. Beauty companies are continuously releasing new and niche products. All  which cater towards different users and interests. But despite all the launches, learning how to perfect a natural makeup look is arguably easier than expected. So if you’re about to begin, here are some steps to take:

  1. Skin care

It’s important to take care of your skin before you apply makeup. This helps you   avoid an uneven surface. You can start off with a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. First, you’ll apply the cleanser evenly. After washing the product off, you’ll apply a toner – you can choose to spray it on or apply with a damp cotton pad. Finish the regime with a moisturizer; this product will hydrate your skin throughout your makeup routine.

  1. Base

Before you start your base makeup, ensure you invest in a primer. A primer is a product which will help to even out the surface of your skin.

For a natural makeup look, you can invest in a light to medium coverage foundation. Some examples include the Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation, and the Rose Inc. Softlight Skin-Smoothing Foundation. You can double up your foundation as a concealer; by gently brushing over more textured areas of the skin. For a natural look, you ideally do not want to use too much product at a specific area.

You can blend out your foundation with a beauty blender. This will ensure that your foundation looks similar to the texture of your skin.

  1. Eyebrows

IIdeally, you want to  use an eyebrow powder to refine your brows. A powder can mimic the eyebrow hair; you can use the product to fill the sparse areas. Unlike the pencil or the pomade, the eyebrow powder produces more of a blended result. You can also use an eyeshadow palette as well.

  1. Eyes

The eyes are often one of the most challenging aspects of makeup. But don’t sweat it! The process is often more simple than expected. You can select an eyeshadow palette filled with neutral colors, such as the Naked 2 by Urban Decay

Then, you can apply a skin-like tone over your eyelid and crease. You can then take a dark brown or black shade, and slowly line your upper and lower lash line. Be careful to not overdo it and stick as close to the lash line as much as possible. This will enhance your lashes and the mascara.

You can finish off the look with your favorite mascara. For a natural look, focus on coating the top – you do not have to necessarily curl your lashes.

  1. Lips

Finish off your look with a neutral-coloured lipstick: Any shades of brown with a slight pink hue can work. Another option is to top it off with lip gloss – that can also work wonders for specific occasions as well.

Finishing Touches

Instead of piling on contour, you can add a hint of powder blush on your cheeks instead. Blush gives more of a natural, yet vibrant summer-time look. Another option is bronzer: Apply a layer on your cheeks for a beachy look.

You can then finish the look off with some setting powder and setting spray.

A natural makeup look is perfect for the corporate businessperson or the friend looking to enjoy a fun summer day. There aren’t too many products or steps involved, but the key to the result is that less is more. So during your routine, do not feel pressured to add more product at all; one layer is enough.
