Dating is scary, nerve-wracking, overwhelming, beautiful, and all around an emotional rollercoaster of highs and lows. With each date comes so much pressure, because this is your opportunity to showcase your best self to someone you’re interested in and would like to see more of. There’s also the pressure of the location or theme of the date that can make or break your connection.
But fear not, there are simple dates you can go on that won’t cause the curiosity and pressure to eat you alive and make things extremely awkward.
1. Go to a Bar With Live Music
That way, you have dinner and a show, but most importantly, something else to talk about.
2. Go to a Bookstore
If both you and your person of interest are bookworms, why not go to a bookstore and try to find exciting new books or go show each other some of your favorites. If the date doesn’t work out, at least you’ll have new recommendations to pass the time.
3. Axe Throwing
If you’re both unique and like to live life a tad to the beat of your own drum, this makes for a great date night. You can try something new but can have a casual conversation over a fun activity.
4. Try Something Seasonal
This totally depends on the time of the year you go on a date. It could be anything from making maple syrup or going in a corn maze to a food truck festival. There are so many cool things you can do together.
5. Going to a Bar
Whether you’re sports fans wanting to watch the game or just want good pub food, going to a bar never hurts.
6. Go on a Bike Ride
Riding bikes is totally underrated. It can help encourage you both to explore some beautiful parts you’ve never seen before while being side by side. Then, you can take rests at benches and enjoy the view and conversation.
7. Grab a Coffee
It’s so typical, but totally worth it because it’s so lowkey and oddly comforting. You don’t even have to go to a well-known shop, the local ones are sometimes the best locations!
8. Mini Golf
Sure, it’s cliche and typical, but it’s always a hit! Especially because everyone does it so it’s never to be taken seriously.

The traditional dates might seem overdone, but at least these have a few spins on the classics with new suggestions you’ll be sure to remember. Plus, all of these dates are relatively cheap so you won’t break your bank either (which is always a bonus in case they don’t offer to pay).
