As I scrolled through my Facebook news-feed, I saw this quote.
“Glow Getter: A driven busy gal who strives to achieve her goals in life while attaining a beautiful glow both inside and out.”
This stood out to me because it not only talks about an external glow, but it also talks about developing your own internal glow. How do you develop an external glow? Maintaining a skin regime and eating antioxidant foods might be beneficial to glowing skin? Highlighter sticks? Yes, these might help you gain more confidence with your external glow, but is that it? How do you develop that “internal glow”? Here is a list of ways to develop your internal glow and become a glow getter:
- Stop wasting your energy on people who don’t deserve it
Why are you waiting all day for someone to text you back to make plans with you? Your time is too valuable to be proving your worth to others. You need to develop your own worth. Worrying does nothing but waste your time. Focus on things that you can control.
- Don’t compare yourself to others
I’m sure you found yourselves in situations in which you were compared to others, based on job promotions, grades, or how you all dressed. Comparing yourself to others doesn’t make you happy. It is self-defeating, especially when you feel that you do not measure up to others.
- Dress up and wear makeup for you
Dressing up and wearing makeup is supposed to make you feel confident, especially when you do it for yourself. Wear the clothing and makeup that makes you happy and comfortable.
- Rise above the negativity
Crazy times, negative news, hate, sickness, mental health, just to name a few. It’s so easy to feel burdened and brought down by these issues. When we rise above them, it helps us maintain that internal and external glow.
- Empower others
Bringing people down doesn’t make you better. It makes you look weaker. Making someone feel good about themselves is a beautiful thing, and it helps spread positivity. It’s beautiful to make those around you smile, especially when they really need it.
Becoming a “glow getter” changes your life, after you adapt the 5 actions to your life. While you focus on your external and internal glow, you can make others feel more confident by offering a hand to help them up when they need to get back up from falling down and offer kind words.
