‘Tis the season to be jolly — especially if you love a good holiday movie. Most of the Hallmark movies have the same plot, same people, and are honestly quite cheesy, but we all continue to watch these addicting holiday movies. There are many reasons why Hallmark holiday movies are our go-tos for the season. And here are just a few of them.
1. They’re timely.
They start being shown during the last week of October when we’re ready to start celebrating. Especially after what this year has delivered, we’re all ready for some jolliness.
2. They are love stories.
We all love a happy ending. In fact, 99% of the time the Hallmark movie couple ends up together, even after all their struggles and stress. A cheesy and cute romance is sometimes all we need during the holiday season.
3. They’re relatable.
Most of us can totally relate to the characters in these movies. They’re about the lover that got away or the regular struggles, such as having to pick between your family and career or moving back to your hometown. These are things we can all see ourselves experiencing.
4. They are visually beautiful.
When my husband and I decorate for the holidays, I try so hard to make my house look like a Hallmark movie. Anyone else does this, or is it just me? All of these movies show us the big clean house decked out in Christmas decor and the yard covered in the beautiful snow. I mean, who doesn’t love that?
5. They’ve become our tradition.
Oftentimes, these cheesy holiday movies become a part of our holiday season. Personally, as long as Hallmark keeps releasing these movies, I will be tuning in year after year.
6. They’re magical.-
After a stressful day at work or school, it’s nice to come home, get cozy, and flip to the Hallmark channel. The movies give us a chance to escape the sometimes harsh reality and right into joy and happiness. They also open our minds to all the miracles that could happen during the holidays.
7. They have happy endings.
Even if you haven’t seen the movie that’s currently playing when you flip to the Hallmark channel, you have a pretty good idea of what’s going to happen. Most likely, the couple will end up happily together, all family differences will be resolved, and the whole town will come together for some caroling or a holiday festival. We all love a good ending and love knowing we can predict it.
Even though they’re cheesy, Hallmark holiday movies really aren’t that bad. The movie plots always have everything we could want in a movie and are topped with a good dose of reality, love, drama, humor, and all the holiday magic. So get your favorite movie snacks, put on your holiday jammies, and heat up some hot cocoa to tune into your favorite holiday movies on Hallmark this holiday season.
