OnlyFans is a site that allows people to sell subscriptions for the content that they create, which is exclusively made by that person. Many OnlyFans pages that people come across show lude content, often aimed at men. However, some pages promote exercise routines and so much more. While I’m sure that there are many OnlyFans pages out there with diverse content, the primary subject matter seems to be sex. OnlyFans can be a successful source of income, but you have to promote yourself on social media consistently. Here are three things you should look out for when trying to make it on OnlyFans:
1. Content
When starting an OnlyFans, you need to have a clear sense of the content you want to promote on your page (ludes, make-up, exercise, etc.). If you intend to include lude content, there is a specific section that you have to fill out for the page to be live. The pages that I’ve come across have been mostly women promoting sexual content. This is fine, but be aware that you may want to take precautions if you pursue this route. For instance, it’s probably best if your employer, coworkers, family, and friends don’t see your content.
2. Social Media Presence
Arguably, this is the most challenging but essential aspect of OnlyFans: social media promotion. Many of these pages allow specific content to remain free to the public to secure viewers before deciding to pay for the subscription. OnlyFans does take a certain percentage of what the creators make, so keep that in mind. When it comes to promoting your content, Twitter is probably the best place because information spreads quickly on this platform. Facebook is the least likely to yield results, whereas Instagram only works if you have a large following. Again, I would suggest gaining an online presence before starting the page because it may be difficult to get everything going all at once. The more influential someone is on social media, the more successful their OnlyFans page will be.
3. Creating a Persona
While some people feel comfortable sharing their entire identity on OnlyFans, it’s not the case for everyone. I’ve seen some women incorporate cosplay in their content to hide their real identities from the web. This isn’t a bad idea if you’re worried about people seeing your face in the content. This is also a great option for those who are great at make-up and can use it to alter their appearance through contouring and shading. There are so many options: wearing a wig, adjusting angles, and choosing outfits that aren’t your usual go-to choices.
If you’re thinking about pursuing a career on OnlyFans, consider the advice before diving in. It can be a successful endeavor, but with the right attitude and knowledge, there’s no reason why you won’t be able to make it.
