Many great shows have premiered recently, and luckily, there’s more where that came from! From animated adventure to fantasy drama, there are TV shows for everyone this spring. Some shows are returning for their final season, while others are premiering for the first time, and we’ve rounded up those you should keep an eye out for.
So here are 18 highly anticipated television premieres for the best shows dropping in May and June 2021:
May 2 — DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (CW)
Everyone’s favorite zany time-traveling superhero team returns for season six in the Arrowverse.
May 4 — Star Wars: The Bad Batch (Disney+)
This new animated series follows the experimental clones and elite soldiers of Clone Force 99, aka The Bad Bunch. The characters will use their unique skills to navigate the instant aftermath of the Clone War.
May 4 — Selena: The Series (Netflix)
Part 2 of Selena: The Series will be the final installment about the Tejano music icon. It will dive into the singer’s rise to international stardom and tragic death.
May 7 — Dynasty (CW)
Season four of the 1980s soap opera reboot returns this May to check in on the affluent Carrington and Colby families and the fate of their vast oil fortunes.
May 7 — Shrill (Hulu)
The Portland-based comedy series returns for its third and final season. It follows Annie (Aidy Bryant) as she overcomes her recent breakup and builds momentum in her journalism career while embracing and accepting her body.
May 7 — Jupiter’s Legacy (Netflix)
This fantasy-drama series starring Josh Duhamel follows the children of legendary superheroes as they try to live up to and continue their parents’ legacies.
May 9 — Ziwe (Showtime)
Writer and comedian Ziwe Fumudoh doesn’t hold anything back in her new late-night variety show premiering at 11 pm ET/PT.
May 14 — High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (Disney+)
Season 2 is coming, but not in the way you may think. Instead of tackling High School Musical 2 for the upcoming season as expected, the students of East High will take on Beauty and the Beast for their next school production.
May 14 — The Underground Railroad (Amazon Prime Video)
This highly anticipated historical fiction-drama series follows a young girl’s journey after escaping from her Georgia plantation for the rumored Underground Railroad.
May 16 — The Good Witch (Hallmark)
Season 7 of the beloved Hallmark series returns with mysterious new romances, relationships as well as challenging life events that the characters of Middleton must overcome. Need to catch up before the new season drops? Seasons 1-5 are available right now on Netflix, and Season 6 is available on Amazon Prime Video.
May 21 — Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. (Hulu)
The new animated adult series follows the M.O.D.O.K. family and their business struggles. It’s based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Yes, even supervillains have midlife crises.
May 23 — Duncanville (Fox)
Get ready to relive your teen years with a new season of Duncanville! Check in to see what Duncan, his mom and parking enforcement officer Annie, his dad and plumber Jack, and his revenge-seeking little sister Kimberly have been up to since we saw them last. This adult animated sitcom returns at 8:30/7:30c, and ahead of the season two premiere, Fox has already renewed the series for a third season.
May 31 — Housebroken (Fox)
Therapy dog Honey (Lisa Kudrow) leads neighborhood therapy sessions for a group of animals in this upcoming adult animated sitcom that is sure to deliver some serious laughs.
June 9 — In the Dark (CW)
Season 3 of the comedy-drama series follows a young, blind woman trying to solve her friend’s murder, and it returns at 9/8c.
June 9 — Loki (Disney+)
It’s finally here: Tom Hiddleston returns as the God of Mischief in his very own crime thriller, embarking on new adventures in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. What will Loki get into next? Tune in this June to find out!
June 11 — Zenimation (Disney+)
Zenimation is here to calm your mind and soul with soothing music and ASMR sounds partnered with scenes from your favorite animated Disney movies.
June 11 — Love, Victor (Hulu)
Based on the 2018 film Love, Simon, this LGBTQ+ drama series returns for a second season to follow Victor (Michael Cimino) as he navigates his junior year of high school after recently coming out.
June 14 — The Republic of Sarah (CW)
High school teacher Sarah Cooper is on a mission to save her serene town of Greylock, New Hampshire, from Lydon Industries as it attempts to bulldoze the city to extract a valuable mineral that’s found underground. Sarah devises a plan to help Greylock gain international sovereignty, but that comes with a new set of challenges like building a new nation from square one.
