“Happiness depends upon ourselves.” — Aristotle.
Stress is a condition that may cause people to struggle with making decisions, no matter how small. Stress can occur anytime, but particularly when we experience a change in our lives, It can affect our happiness, joy, and other emotions, making them less intense. It can also make us unable to tell the difference between some of these emotions.
Happiness and satisfaction are not the same things. As humans, we constantly change and transform, both mentally and emotionally. That’s why it’s important to be able to tell what feelings we’re experiencing.
It’s important to remember that joy and pleasure aren’t identical.
We love to be comfortable and experience familiar feelings, such as happiness or sadness, So we tend to make the mistake of finding comfort and thinking it’s joy.
We are set on being happy, so we attach ourselves to this emotion without considering where it’s coming from. Being content is the first step to being happy, and you can’t have the latter without the first one. After all, you can be satisfied but not pleased.
You have to develop gratifying connections.
Your connections take on a fresh start when you’re satisfied. For example, you might be able to find better employment, discover who you truly are, and feel overall happier. That’s because when we’re glad, we feel safe and protected.
The inner feeling of peace is vital.
Happiness and enjoyment can look the same but differ in several ways. True happiness comes with inner peace that enjoyment can’t bring you. This type of joy can’t be changed and isn’t affected by minor inconveniences or insignificant troubles. It’s constant and indestructible. It’s a sense of connection within yourself to who you are and what you can achieve in life. One of the essential paths to happiness is creating a comfortable life rich in mental, physical, and emotional stability.
Ask yourself this: Are you brutally honest with yourself?
Peek into the most serious part of your mind and thoughts. This will help you understand what you need in life and how to get there. So, do yourself a favor and stop suppressing your emotions. Quit peeking out and controlling everything that’s beyond your control.
You must be genuine with yourself.
As life evolves, we need to stay genuine to who we truly are and continue to grow and move forward. Based on what we eventually find and settle for, we must search for contentment that will lead us to true happiness.
We have to stay honest about where we’re at and where we want to get. So, keep asking yourself: Are you delighted, or are you barely content? If it’s the latter, quit making excuses and change your life. Make decisions that help you get to where you want to be and evolve. You never know where this might lead you.
Boost your confidence, learn about yourself, and learn ways to improve. Most importantly, remember that there’s a lot of joy in the journey, not just the destination. And remember that there’s always a way — you just have to find it.
