Let’s face it, A Walk to Remember was one hell of a movie for our generation. Literally, everyone has seen the movie and I’d say a good chunk have read the book. Both were absolutely phenomenal. One of the greatest things about the film was watching the chemistry between stars Mandy Moore and Shane West.
I recently just watched the movie on a Friday night alone in bed, like one traditionally does when they don’t have friends, and this crazy idea dawned on me! They should just give in to what the fans want and just get married already. I know you’re thinking it too, but I have valid facts and points that show that a marriage could totally be possible for the two!
Being “Just Friends” Doesn’t Always “Just Work”
We’ve all had a close guy friend that we eventually fall for in one way or another. So Miss Moore can smile her perfect smile and deny that there is nothing more going on, but I call BS. It’s gonna change eventually by either one of them.
It’s Been A While Since They Truly Spent Time Together
The movie celebrated its 15th anniversary this past year (*gasp* I am not that old!) and the cast got together to do a mini reunion. And you know what comes with reunions are fond memories from the past. And what occurs between now and then, time. And time apart is what they needed to realize that they missed each other and that they do belong together.
They’re Opposites
Shane is that sensitive rocker bad boy, just like his character in the movie was. And Mandy is that innocent, positive, and girly girl. The two couldn’t be more different, yet they work so well together. Their chemistry is undeniable, and that’s what makes the greatest of marriages work.
Because Good Things Need To Happen For Once
We’re living in a world where so much bad is happening. And I think the people of the great planet Earth need a reason to smile and by them getting back together they’ll restore our faith in love again. (It’s an exaggeration, but it makes sense, doesn’t it?)
Because Mandy Moore Already Confessed Her Love For Shane *GASP*
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly for the 15th anniversary of the classic film, she said, “Shane was so cool. Everything about him – the way he dressed, the little cigarettes that he smoked, and the music he listened to. He was the character to me and there was definitely a part of me that absolutely fell in love with him… I was just so caught up in the moment and the experience.”
And Both Of Them Are Single And Available
Mandy divorced from her husband of nearly six years in 2011 and hasn’t been dating anyone since. And Shane West and his most recent girlfriend of a few years also recently split. So do you see anything wrong with this happening?
Although it’s very unlikely that it’ll ever happen and that this piece was written just as a fun article suggesting something totally insane (yet desirable by many), my points are very valid. But hey, if Mandy Moore doesn’t want the real life Landon Carter, I’ll gladly take him!
