With the 2016 Rio Olympics officially in full swing, it can only mean one thing: sports, sports, and more sports. And with watching sports comes the obvious attraction to certain athletes. A recent survey of 32,000 singles says that the sexiest sport a potential partner could participate in is swimming. In second place came tennis, and third came volleyball. Being a volleyball player for years, I would have to disagree with that ranking. Here are my reasons why volleyball players should be bumped up to the first place spot in our hearts.
They have soft hands
All volleyball players know just how to use their hands. They’re natural at cradling balls in the most perfect way.
They can do it in multiple positions
Rotating and switching it up comes naturally.
They specialize
Despite being versatile, they always have their go-to specialty position. And that never fails to disappoint.
They don’t stop until they score
Everyone can appreciate determination and endurance right?
They always do what coach says
Obedience is extremely important. Extremely.
Being on their knees is like second nature
They don’t even have to use knee pads if they don’t want to.
They’re not afraid to use all the space they possibly can
Being on the floor doesn’t bother them in the slightest. In fact, most prefer to do it there! Sacrificing your body for the ball is a huge part of the sport.
The more involved the merrier
As the saying goes, “It’s not fun when there’s only one.”
They have impeccable ball control
We can angle it just right at any height to hit any target.
They know how to hit all the right zones
Down the line, cross court, or at the weak link. Doesn’t matter to them, they can get it done.
Face down, ass up is how they get ready
Ready position is truly how they prepare for the play to begin.
We know how to get the hardest one’s up
When a ball’s coming right at you, we know how to drop it low and take it like a champ.
They like to be on top of their game
Being on top is always key. And even if they’re on the bottom, they’ll work their way up in no time.
They claim what’s theirs
“Mine!” “Got it!” and “Yeah!” are just a few of the ways they call what they want. And they say it loud and proud.
They can go an entire match at an intense pace
You only get so much time to get the kill, so you gotta go hard.
They can do multiple rounds at a time
3 or 5? Doesn’t make a difference to them. They can finish with ease!
They have nice bums
That goes without saying! And you’ll get to see a whole lot of it both on and off the court.
They don’t like it tipped, they like it tapped hard
Nobody wants to receive a light tap, we want a hard swing coming right at us.
Their favorite word starts with an “S” ends in “Ex”
Spandex that is.
They celebrate better than anyone I know
We don’t just scream and yell during the play, but we do it nice and loud after in a big group hug.
From the courts to the beach, volleyball players have amazing athleticism and bodies to be envied. So my points might be a little biased, but every single one of them is true! Make sure to get your fill during the Olympics and embrace the excitement of sport! Or the excitement of hot people doing things you wish you could do. Whatever works best for you.
